On Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at 6:30 p.m., in Sunderland Public Library Peter Vickery will discuss the statutes and regulations that would govern shale-gas extraction in Massachusetts, and ask whether they would pass constitutional muster. The meeting is free and open to the public.
I attended the fracking discussion in Sunderland: nice job presenting the legal landscape clearly. I had asked a question about nullification and did not necessarily mean secession, but it wasn’t the right time to continue on that point.
I meant simply the actions or nonaction that might be taken in consideration of certain laws that appear inhumane, in the contest between local and federal control. I’m interested in how the contest might be proceeding with respect to control of education, marijuana, etc. There is a link on nullification here from the Liberty Classroom, whose politics are likely conservative: http://www.meetup.com/HEALove/pages/Relevant_Legal_Topics/
Thank you
